What is Meditation?

A Glympse into Meditation

Did you know that every time you open your eyes, 70–80% of your energy goes to the external environment? Therefore, your internal energy decreases, and you have approximately 20% left to operate the rest of your body. Whereas, when you close your eyes, and divert that 70–80% of your energy to your internal system, you will increase self-awareness, emotional balance, and clarity of purpose. However, it can also bring to light challenging emotions that require careful attention and integration. The unfolding is not a singular occurrence but rather a continuous journey of self-discovery and intentional application of one's vital energy.

What is meditation?

Meditation is a mental and physical practice of training your attention and awareness to develop a calm, clear, and stable state of mind. It can be done in many ways, but all styles involve purposefully focusing your mind, often on the present moment, to support your well-being.

Why meditate?

The main reason we meditate is to first amplify the frequency within. Whether it is to energize or relax the body, to be present in the moment, to be aware, to help preserve our life force, our ka, our energy. We also meditate to enhance the immune system and regulate the production of certain enzymes in the body, such as cortisol, melatonin, melanin, serotonin, DMT, and more.

How to meditate?

To start meditating, keep in mind that you shouldn't take your thoughts seriously. Also, don't try to quiet your mind. Just keep observing in stillness.

Preparation

  1. Stop any distractions to clear and lucid the mind.
  2. Choose a quiet, more secluded place. You can light candles, burn incense, and surround yourself with precious crystals, or simply hold one in each palm. (Crystals are optional.)
  3.  Choose a comfortable position that suits you. I recommend the lotus position, sitting with crossed legs, because it allows good energy flow to the body, corrects breathing, and prevents falling asleep.
  4. Press your tongue against the roof of your mouth. This tongue position creates strong upward energy, helping the myofascial nerves in the face, neck, and throat to loosen, gradually affecting other areas of your body. It has a similar effect to grounding while barefoot on the ground.
  5. Take several slow, deep breaths. Inhale through your nose, pressing your tongue to the palate while pushing out your lower abdomen (diaphragmatic breathing), and exhale slowly by contracting your abdomen until you feel the muscles relax and your mind stabilizes on your breathing.
